YEAD Work Schedule

September 2008

- Inauguration of the Comenius project in each participating school.
- Creation of a blog by each school.
- Conduction of a questionnaire among the students participating in the Comenius project (the questionnaire consists of 10 questions).

October 2008

- Establishing Comenius Clubs at schools.
- Creation of a list of students’ e-mails to create and enable a pen pal programme between all the students.
- Publication of basic facts about each country on the blogs- part I (location, bordering countries, national anthem, flag and coat of arms, population).

November 2008

- Publication of basic facts about each country on the blogs-part II (area, capital, geography, politics, culture, sports, climate).

14-21 November 2008

Teachers’ meeting in Poland:
- Evaluation of the questionnaire and all the work done so far.
- Discussing the programme of activities for the students’ meeting in Greece.
- Conference on pedagogical issues and exchange of information about materials and teaching methods.
- Sharing experience and exchanging new ideas.

December 2008

- ‘Exchange box’- each country has to send 7 identical boxes containing typical and characteristic elements of their own country to all members of the partnership (flag, typical sweets and cookies and other characteristic things depending on what students decide).

January 2009

- Creation of a word bank in each language of common words which students will present on the blogs and then teach to the students of other schools on the students’ meeting in Greece (the word bank will include 15 most common and useful words and expressions in the mother tongue of the participating country and also in English).

February 2009

- Lifestyle-creation of a diary that records a typical week in a student’s life-to be presented in Greece (the diary will present students’ habits, daily routines and activities) research work, deciding on the vocabulary, photos.


March 2009

- Creation of a presentation about students’ most common and most unusual interests- research, gathering information, planning, creating the presentation.
- Creation of a presentation about the school system. In addition, students make a film about their school and place it on individual blogs so that their friends from other schools know how it looks like.

End of March 2009

Students’ meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece:
- Diaries about lifestyle and word banks presented.
- Presentations about students’ interests exchanged.
- Most common words of each language taught to all the partners.
- Information and presentations about school systems also exchanged.


May – June 2009

- Creation of a presentation to be recorded, which represents each country’s traditions and festivals. Each country will include 6 traditions and festivals in their presentations.

September 2009

- Creation of a presentation on popular music. Searching for information and examples of pop music, deciding on the lexis and photos. Placing presentations on blogs.

October 2009 - November

- Creation of a presentation on religion in each country.

25 November - 2 December 2009

Students’ and teachers’ meeting in Zwoenitz, Germany
- Presentations of traditions, festivals, and popular music.
- Dancing lessons of a traditional dance of each country.
- Conference for teachers on school systems- information exchanged.

January 2010

Working on the cookery book to be included on the blogs.

February 2010

Creation of a cookery book (3 starters, 3 main courses and 3 desserts).

March 2010

- Creation of a book of personalities to be included into the blogs where students can discover famous people from each country (the book will include 10 famous people).

April 2010

Teachers’ meeting in Nicosia, Cyprus:
- Evaluation of conclusions reached among students.
- Sharing experience and exchanging ideas.
- Two questionnaires (one for teachers and one for students) will be created for the final evaluation of the project.

May - June 2010

- Repetition of the initial questionnaires and also the questionnaires prepared by the teachers during their visit in Cyprus.
- Students’ evaluation of how their perceptions, stereotyped beliefs and prejudices have changed.
- Final evaluation of the project. Conclusions reached. Ideas, information, experience shared and exchanged.
- Final report and summary of the project activities will be sent, by the coordinator, to all the partner countries.
